In the normal, every-day world we are always thinking about how we can increase sales and save cash. Selling your products and/or services in return for barter dollars is relatively easy and you can find a client willing to pay in barter dollars faster than a client willing to pay you in CASH.

Now you need to expend the same kind of time and energy on how to use your dollars. You must think about spending barter dollars before spending cash. You must think barter first all the time.

Be Flexible
Barter dollars will not always deliver exactly what you want. You must be willing to change vendors, try new ways to promote your business, or perhaps look into different options. This way, barter will not only work for you but it will probably also make life more unique since you will be able to try new things you may not have tried without having a barter bank account.

Use Your Existing Vendors
Your existing vendors in many cases already barter in some fashion or will be open to accepting barter dollars versus loosing your business to a business who does accept barter dollars. Talk to them and send them an order in barter dollars to see what their response is. You never know until you ask.

Barter Dollars Make a Great Gift
No matter if you use corporate gift giving as a way to say thank you or as a way to get your foot in the door. Barter dollars allow you to send gifts like gift cards, gift baskets, gift certificates, or almost anything you could think of to anyone you want to. Barter is the gift that keeps on giving since it saves you cash and gives you the ability to give gifts you might not give or that might not be in the budget.

Be Quick
While you must be willing to wait, you must also move quickly when something comes along that is not normally available on barter. Offers of boats, late model cars, desirable real estate and other attractive high-ticket items are usually sold on the same day they are offered. Those who respond quickly are often the ones who brag about the great deal they just got on barter.
